Log Burning Posts

Log Burning Posts

This is were I will post my own personal updates about our own log burning activities.

Up until this year (2018) I would produce my own firewood for the forthcoming winter. Thanks to a friendly Tree Surgeon giving me access to as much softwood as I wanted.

Log Burning Posts

I have a written a few posts describing how I would go up to his yard. Then spend an hours so cutting up tree trunks so that I could lift them into the car. It was also much better cutting the logs there as I didn’t upset the neighbours with the noisy petrol chainsaw. Then I would bring them home and split them on our electric hydraulic log splitter.

Finally they would get stacked in our home made logs stores to season ready for burning when winter arrived. And because it is all softwood, it really does season very quickly in our log stores.

This year, owing to a long lasting back problem. I am taking the year off from preparing our firewood to allow my back to heal.
